Stephen Baker is an Operating Partner at Communitas Capital and currently the CEO and President of ActiveState, a leading provider of secure open source solutions used by over 97% of the Fortune 1000.

Previously, Stephen was a Director at Amazon where he led go-to-market for AWS’s Machine Learning and Generative AI services. He has over 25 years of experience in AI/ML, Enterprise Search, and Cyber Security and has held leadership roles at early stage companies including Fast Search & Transfer (exit to Microsoft), AllTheWeb (exit to Yahoo!), and Attivio (exit to ServiceNow).

Stephen excels at commercializing IP and has a proven track record for driving growth through product innovation and go-to-market differentiation. He holds a BS from Hofstra University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
